Hello,
I have many transactions with receipts that "needs action." However, when I review the receipt info there is no way to confirm it is correct. I click the "update button" and I get an error that says "can't find a matching transaction" and then asks "attach this receipt to an existing transaction?". I click yes, as the transaction is very much existing, and nothing happens. The screen doesn't change and I have no way of moving forward.
Anybody else having this issue?
Many help or suggestions are much appreciated!
Lindsay
I appreciate your reporting the problem you experienced, Lindsay.
QuickBooks Self-Employed scans receipts for date, amount, vendor, and account. If a match is found, it attaches the receipt to the transaction. I'm here to help resolve matching certain transactions that have a receipt in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).
If you're working on a web browser, let's initially access your account through your browser's incognito mode, as this could be a temporary browser problem.
When you see a Needs action message on your Transactions page, click on it to review the transaction. Make sure all the details are correct and click on Save. If there is already an existing transaction, select Yes when prompted to attach the receipt to the existing transaction.
If this works, proceed to clear your browser's cache. This process will remove and fix specific issues and help the program run optimally. Additionally, you can use other devices and supported browsers to ensure everything works as expected.
On the other hand, let's perform app troubleshooting steps if you're working on a phone.
For iOS:
For Android:
After this, perform matching or attaching the receipts to existing transactions.
For future reference, let me add this article should you need to enter older transactions from your bank: Add older transactions to QuickBooks Self-Employed.
Let us know if the problem of matching receipts to existing transactions persists. We're committed to offering ongoing support. Take care.
Thank you for prompt reply!
Unfortunately neither the browser or mobile app worked following those steps. In both cases there is not a "save" button, only an "update" button. If I click "update" it asks if I want to manually attach to a transaction, but the transaction is not found. All the information in the transaction that needs attention is correct, I just want to confirm and clear.
Any further help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Lindsay
