Such poor customer service! Called and the connection was static. Asked them to call back and they did not. I phoned again and had almost the same problem. Put on hold forever.
Trying to export from Desktop to On-Line and keep receiving an uploading error. No one has been able to assist. Might be time to dump QB (after using it for 2 companies for 20+years) and more to something else!

Hello there, ItalianDream.
I would love to assist you in achieving your goal. However, could you please provide me with more details regarding your concern about the uploading error you've encountered when exporting from QBDT to QBO? It would be helpful if you could attach a screenshot to help me better understand the issue and provide you with an accurate resolution.
I'll wait for your reply, or if you have any other questions, please let us know. We're always here to help. Stay Safe.
OMG...suck up much? Why am I getting dinged for this post? How about a fundamental reality. The data that we input does not belong to QBO. It belongs to us....the clients. QBO is in big time violation of several statutes. I might sue. After all, our companiy does litigation. Ergo, I am litigious. If I do, it will be class action in federal. Welcome to the party. Are you ready to dance yet?.
Have you converted data to QB Desktop?
When I bought the On-line version I uploaded the files but the file size was slightly smaller than the desktop, and a flag appeared suggesting that tech service should be called (and I got the impression that I would have to pay for it). So this week I figured I'd try again, went to the desktop, selected Upload to QB On-line, and immediately a error message appeared.
We have a teacher for or language school who wants to handle the accounting but she is remote and cannot access our server here, so an on-line version is preferred. If we cannot get this up and running we'll try a different cloud-based software and see how that works.

I bought QB Online and transferred the files from QB Desktop. Got a fault message and the "fix" seemed to be paying your associated service to handle the upload. Couple weeks later now I tried again and this time the fault is flagged before there is any download.
QB Pro 2020
QB Desktop 2020 has outdated. You need to use the trial version of QB Desktop 2021 or any newer version to upgrade your file and convert it to QB Online.
Target file is only 52MB.
Hello there, @rsimon.
As 4Gal said, you'll have to use the trial version of QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2021 or any newer version to upgrade your file and convert it to QuickBooks Online (QBO).
I understand the importance of transferring your files from QBDT to QBO. However, if you already tried using the trial version of QBDT 2021 and it persists, I suggest contacting our support to further check what's causing this and determine possible solutions.
Here's how:
