Buy nowI am trying to export a Profit and Loss report to google sheets. When I select the export to google sheet option from the P&L report, I've followed the steps and "Allowed" Intuit permission to export data to Google. After thinking for a minute, I get an error message that "There was a problem connecting. Go back and try again."
I've gone through the normal troubleshooting steps (clear browser history, cookies, use incognito window, etc) and continue to encounter the issue.
This is the first time I've tried to setup the export to sheets function at this company. When I've used the functionality in the past (in a different companies QB) the process noted above would launch a new browser tab with the report. However, what I'm encountering now is that the new browser tab does not launch. Nor is there a prompt in the URL showing that a popup has been blocked. So it seems like maybe this is a browser setting issue?
Has anyone experienced a similar issue and have a fix?
I appreciate all the steps you've performed to resolve the issue.

Hi James,
I've spoken with two members of the QB online support team and they were not able to provide a solution. So I was hoping that someone in the QB community would have a solution.
Is there someone that from your product or engineering team that could review the issue with me?
I have spoken with 2 reps from the online support team and they were not able to provide a solution. Hoping that posting to the QB community will help find the solution.
I know this hasn't been an easy process for you, cmorrison. I appreciate you for performing all the possible steps to resolve this.
Let me make it up to you by ensuring this error gets fixed so that you'll be able to export your report.
Since you're exporting data for the first time in this QuickBooks Online company, let's ensure you have a Google account already created. After that, let's adjust your web browser settings to allow pop-up windows from QuickBooks Online. It could be the cause of the issue.
If you're using Google Chrome, please follow these steps:
Also, I've added the list below of the things that need to be considered:
Once done, we can now export QuickBooks reports to Google Sheets. This is a UK article but works in US versions.
If the issue persists, I suggest using other supported browsers. Then, make sure to check for pop-up blockers. We can also try using other devices to ensure this gets sorted out.
Aside from checking the popups and using other browsers and devices, are you using any ad blockers? We'll want to check those ad blocker plugins within your browsers and disable them on QuickBooks-related pages.
Additionally, I've added these articles that'll help you in managing and personalizing your reports in the program:
You can always reply here if you have more concerns about managing reports. If you need to take care of your entries, tax forms, and lists, let us know and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
I am still unable to export reports to sheets. I tried the following steps:
1. I have a google account
2. Added qbo.intuit.com to the allowed sites per your instructions
3. Used an incognito session
4. Used Edge browser
I've had two members of my team try to export to sheets and they are experiencing the same issue. We work remotely, so everyone is using a different internet connection.
Any ideas what next steps to try?
Thanks for getting back to the thread, cmorrison-rvshar. I appreciate your troubleshooting steps to solve your concern.
Thank you for trying the steps provided by my colleagues. If you're able to export through Excel and not through Google Sheet, we suggest contacting Google for further investigation and help. There may be browser settings and extensions that interfere with the connection to Google Sheets, resulting in the error appearing. If anything else comes up, I recommend reaching out back to us.

I was able to resolve this issue. I was looking through the apps module for a separate reporting app and noticed that there was an app there called "google sheets integration". (see attached screenshot) I was not able to launch, disconnect or edit the app and neither did the primary admin (which is also strange-->why would the primary admin not have access to edit ALL apps connected to the company QB account??).
The other company admin did have access to edit the app. This person was not the original person to connect the app. That person has left the company and the account was deleted. The other company admin disconnected the app. At which point we both were able to successfully allow QB to export to google sheets.
Replying with our resolution in case you have another user with similar issues.
I have been trying to figure this out for months with no luck from QB support. Thank you for posting this, we figured out the admin with the connection and fixed it in 5 minutes!
After your Admin disconnected the app, did they reconnect it?
Yes, an admin will have to reconnect. This can be accomplished by running the report you want to export to google sheets (ie Profit and Loss report). At the top right of the report select the export button (between the print and gear icons). Select "Export to Google sheets" and follow the prompts.
