The previous owner of our company gave us a flash drive with his old QBDT data and Im not able to access it. My computer does not support desktop and it wont let me open the file with any other app. Suggestions?
***I do NOT want to merge his files with ours***
Do you only need to review the file or convert it to QB Online? Ask your client, which QB Desktop year version did they use?
I only need to review it. It looks like he did the back up this year, Im not sure if that means he had an up-to-date version or not
You can use the trial version of QB Desktop 2024 Enterprise to restore the backup file.
If you encounter error or need more time to review the file > 30 days, you should contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA for advise.

To start, you mentioned that your computer does not support QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). Can you clarify whether your computer fails to meet the system requirements for QBDT? If that's the case, your computer needs to meet the specified system requirements for QBDT.
In the meantime, you can try our trial version of QuickBooks Desktop 2024, as suggested by Chrea above, which will allow you to access and review your company file.
Moreover, I've added this article as your reference in case you want to import your QBDT file to QBO, you can check out this article for guidance: Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online.
