Buy nowI have Quickbooks Desktop for Mac 2020.
The Check Register is in Ascending order. I want it in Descending order.
When I double click on the Date column header nothing happens and there's no Sort option when I right click on the Date column header.
Can't find a solution on how to fix this in Google.
Any ideas how to fix this issue?
Unfortunately, QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2020 does not support sorting the Check Register by column headers, including the Date column. This functionality is available in reports and some lists, but not in the check register view.
Thanks for posting here, Richard.
You and @i_am_the_cosmos are correct that the transactions in the Check Register currently appear in ascending order, and QuickBooks Desktop for Mac does not offer the option to sort them in descending order directly within the register. While QuickBooks allows you to filter transactions by criteria such as date, type, or number/reference, the ability to toggle the order isn’t available.
If you’re trying to locate or search for specific transactions, one workaround is to use the search field located in the upper left corner of the register.
If you're looking for more advanced ways to view or sort transactions, consider generating a report or exporting the register data to a spreadsheet program. These methods allow greater flexibility, such as sorting transactions in descending order.
I’ll ensure this conversation remains open for any future updates and discussions.
