Unrecoverable Error (1407256492 30058) When looking up inventory items after QB 2024 update

After a whole lot of hours, we were able to resolve this issue by doing the following steps below. I recommend creating a backup, restore that same backup in a different folder, then testing on that new restore first.

This is assuming you don't have any Categories created, I do not know if this will fix your issue, if you have categories already filled out.

  1. Open the Company File using the Admin Creds
  2. On the top, Click "Lists"
  3. Click "Category List" (Click "Get Started" if a window pops up)
  4. On the bottom, click the down arrow next to "Manage Categories"
  5. Click "Add new category"
  6. Name it "C1" , and leave everything else blank. Then hit "OK"
  7. Under the newly created "C1" Category, click "Select all"
  8. Click the down arrow next to "Batch Actions"
  9. Click "Move to different category"
  10. Select "Uncategorized" and click "Save"
  11. Delete the "C1" Category you just created
  12. Test and see if it works. If it does, then replicate these steps, on your live company file.
