I've been having a terrible time with QuickBooks 2022 this year, more than I've ever had in using QuickBooks for 15 years. The problem is that I now get an Unrecoverable Error when loading my file. This happens if I have any version later than R5_45 installed. In R5_45 it's completely fine. The problem is that Quickbooks keeps updating, and each time I need to repair or reinstall the installation to get it working again. I allowed it to install R6 today in hopes that the bug was gone, but no luck. I still get the same error. Reverting to an old version all the time isn't really a sustainable solution.
When this starting happening a couple months ago, I got in touch with support and I spent several hours in chat, trying all sorts of things - file doctor, rebuilding, etc. The only thing that worked was doing a Repair in Control Panel, which reverted the installation to R5_45.
I did some searching, and found many mentions of Unrecoverable Errors, but didn't find this exact problem. Is this a known issue, and has anyone been able to resolve it?

Since yesterday, I've gone through every step in those links, and nothing has helped. This is getting to be a real problem, especially now that Quickbooks is forcing me to update to R6 frequently. Every time R6 installs, I have to uninstall it and install R5_45, it's the only way Quickbooks is usable.

Have you tried to run QBD 2023? You can run both versions at the same time to compare.
That's a good idea, but I gave it a try, and it also crashes with an unrecoverable error.
