I have had 3 different clients with different versions of 2022 send me a backup or accountant's copy that when I restore/convert I get an error message every time stating unrecoverable error and then when I close out of it the file just crashes and closes. IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS PROBLEM?!
I have reached out and asked all 3 of them to verify their data and rebuild their data and it runs through with no problems. I have noticed that all 3 also run payroll through their QB.
Any ideas?? Any solutions?? This is beyond frustrating and QB support is absolutely no help.

Are your clients using QBD 2022? Can you open their Accountant Copy files on your QBD 2023 Accountant?
It's not the kind of experience we want you to have, @martasudol.
I can help you with resolving the unrecoverable error that you're experiencing when converting an Accountant's copy.
First, ensure that you have all the critical updates needed by the program by updating QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.
If you're still having an error, remove the Accountant's Copy Restriction, run the Verify and Rebuild tool from your end, and recreate the changes by creating an accountant's copy.
Follow the steps below:
Check out this article for more information about unrecoverable errors that you may encounter and other solutions that you can perform in resolving them: Unrecoverable errors when importing accountant's changes.
You can now convert the accountant’s copy to a working file and then make changes to your client’s books: Use an Accountant's Copy working file in QuickBooks Desktop.
Once you're done, you can now export the accountant's changes (.QBY) and send it back to your client: Export accountant's changes.

In my previous post I already said that they did rebuild and verify their data. It does not work.
The unrecoverable error continues.
I'll help you fix the unrecoverable error you encountered in QuickBooks Desktop, martasudol.
I appreciate the troubleshooting actions you’ve tried to isolate the issue when you trying to restore Accountant's copy. Meanwhile, these unrecoverable errors are due to various reasons, but the most common are missing Windows or QuickBooks updates, data damage, computer issues, or program code that needs repairing.
If you want to create an Accountant's copy, you'll need to make sure it's compatible with the QuickBooks versions you're using. The customer and accountant should ideally be using the same version or year of QuickBooks Desktop when using the Accountant's Copy feature.
If the issue persists, I highly suggest reaching out to our QuickBooks Support Team. This way, they can further look into this issue and provide additional troubleshooting steps to get this fixed. They can also create an investigation ticket if other users are experiencing the same.

THANK YOU!! I forgot this was an option.
There seems to be NO resolution for the 2022 error but I was able to successfully restore/convert in 2023.
