Unrecoverable Error opening Sample Company File

I am running Quickbooks 2020 Desktop.  I was using it on my Windows 10 laptop, but it broke and so I installed QB on my Desktop PC.  QB ran fine on my laptop, but I am getting an Unrecoverable Error when trying to open my company file on my Desktop. I have tried everything.

 

Here are the steps I have taken.  Please READ these steps and do not ask me to repeat them.

 

1. Update Windows - Windows is FULLY Updated!

2. Update Quickbooks. Quickbooks is FULLY updated to the latest release.

3. Use Quickbooks Tool Hub to run FILE DOCTOR. Results = "Now Errors Found"

4. Use Quickbooks Tool Hub to run PROGRAM DIAGNOSTIC TOOL. 

5. Restart computer =

6. Restart computer in Diagnostic Mode and attempt to open company file = Unrecoverable Error

7. Restart computer in Safe Mode and attempt to open company file = Unrecoverable Error

8. Attempt to open SAMPLE Company file = Unrecoverable Error

9. Uninstall QB, run junk and registry cleaners, restart computer, reinstall QB, update QB, attempt to open file = Unrecoverable Error.

10 Run QB as Administrator = = Unrecoverable Error

 

Please bear in mind that I have done ALL of the above ten steps at least 30 times. They do not work. My desktop is a Gaming system and has way more than enough power to run QB, so that is not an issue either.

Before we proceed, know this isn't the experience we want you to have when using the program. We recommend contacting our Customer Care Team so they can conduct further investigation and help you fix the error you encountered when using QBDT. We'll write down the steps to get you going:

 

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. Go to Help, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help/Contact Us.
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Give a brief description of your issue, then select Continue.
  5. Sign in to your Intuit account and select Continue and then Continue with my account.
  • If you don't already have an account, make sure to Create a new account.

       6. We'll email you a single use code. Enter your code and select Continue.

  • If you have more than one account, select the account you want to use and then Continue.

      7.Select to chat with us or Have us call you.

Consider to install the trial version of QBD 2021 and compare them.

Do you have a link to the 2021 trail version download page?  I can't find it.  Also, I am not sure this would help me even if it did work because I am not upgrading. My 2020 version works fine on my laptop. It should work fine on my Desktop as well.
