Buy nowWe are a small boat factory running 2023 QB Premier Plus desktop edition with the Manufacturing option selected. The QB app has been issuing messages that the product is about to expire in May. The owner of the company contacted QB and was told to go to the online version which I don't believe is an option for the company for several reasons. This company makes extensive use of Assembly records, and also has internal web apps that interface to QB using the SDK to extract information from QB records to help automate the factory - there are iPads on the factory floor at almost every workstation to get real-time info from QB.
One of the QB reps mentioned that we can upgrade to QB Desktop Pro 2024, and that product would not expire until 2027. My main question would be can QB Desktop Pro 2024 open the existing database and not lose any data (especially the assembly records)? If that is not the case, I assume that the enterprise desktop edition will be the only option and can open the current QB company file without losing data...
Thanks for any advice,
Don
You don't need to upgrade to Enterprise this year. Log in to CAMPS and you'll find your license code to upgrade to Premier Plus 2024.
Intuit will support QB Desktop 2024 until May 2027. When is the renewal date for this year? You can renew your license and earn $300 cashback through a reseller to lower your costs.
Hey there, @alacrity.
Welcome to the QuickBooks Community!
When switching from 2023 Premier Plus to 2024 Pro, it will take away some of the extended features.
If you rely on inventory assemblies or advanced tracking, you should not downgrade to Pro. We recommend either staying with Premier Plus or look into upgrading to Enterprise if you require more advanced inventory features.
As a future reference, you can check out this guide about managing your QuickBooks Desktop.
If you have any other questions, feel free to let me know. I'm only a post away if you need me. Take care!
The renewal date for our 2023 QB Premier Plus is this coming May. Unfortunately, I'm not directly involved in the conversation between the boat company and Intuit about the upgrade. When the owner talks with Intuit sales/support, he has difficulty determining what is relevant for our situation. I'm the person that develops the internal apps using the STK to interface to QB, so I try to make sure we end up getting a version that contains the functions and records required by the apps.
This weekend, the owner is going to login to CAMPS and try to upgrade to 2024 QB Premier Plus. Since we currently have a subscription license, I would assume that using CAMPS would bypass the possibility of using a reseller?? We have a 3 user license, so a discount would be nice.
Thanks for your help!

Your client should have received a renewal notice from Intuit, which is due in May. Your client can contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA directly via email and they will offer the discount options I mentioned earlier.
