RE: All you did was change the title of the sales tax data field.
Yea, one wonders...
RE: DOES anyone else know how to have the sales tax jurisdiction show up on my estimates, sales orders, and invoices?
You can't get the sales tax item name to print on an invoice but you can get the sales tax item's description to print, which may be even better.
To do this, edit the invoice template and turn off the sales tax printing on the footer:
Then the invoice will start printing like this, showing the tax item's description:
Creating an invoice template with a customized field for the Sales Tax Jurisdiction is a great way to ensure compliance and clarity in your billing process, kim.
You can design an invoice template, including a specialized field dedicated to the Sales Tax Jurisdiction. This customization allows you to indicate the applicable tax jurisdiction on your invoices. It’s important to note that when setting up this template, the display on your screen will only show information relevant to the vendor or the state agency involved in the transaction. This streamlined approach ensures unnecessary details are skipped, making it easier for your customers to focus on the essential information.
Below, I’ll guide you through the steps to create this template effectively, ensuring it meets your specific needs:
Once you make these adjustments, you'll see the changes reflected during the preview stage and when you print the invoice or send a digital copy. Moreover, when creating your invoice template, be sure to assign it a unique name that distinguishes it from your other templates.
Following these steps enables you to customize an invoice template that includes a specific field for Sales Tax Jurisdiction, enhancing your invoicing process, kim. Remember to regularly review and update your templates as necessary to keep them aligned with any changes in tax laws or business needs. If you have additional questions you can comment below. If I only had one sales tax jurisdiction this would work but I have hundreds. I cannot make a seperate template for each jurisdiction. I need the template to be dynamic - it needs to pick up the sales tax "item" name.

I don't think anyone asked for a "dynamic template" for "entering sales tax data", whatever that means.

Or, you could just tell the customer how to print details of the sales tax item. That would actually be useful.
I tried what you suggested and it does not update the jurisdiction. I will have to keep playing around with various templates

Are you replying to me? If so, then if the jurisdiction, the information you want to see on the printed invoice, is entered on the sales tax item, then it will print.
