User permissions list shows "none" for all users

I need to review permissions. When I go to view permissions every single area shows "None."

This is for all users. See attached photo.

Note: I know how to create users and assign permissions already.

User permissions list shows "none" for all users

Hello there, @Maverick2. I appreciate you taking the time to share a screenshot of your concern. Let's work together to ensure this gets sorted out.

It is possible that data damage can cause QuickBooks to behave in unexpected ways, leading to the users' permissions appearing as None on your end. In order to resolve this issue, we can take some troubleshooting steps to fix common problems in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). This involves verifying and rebuilding your company file to ensure that the issue gets resolved.

Let me walk you through the steps:

Verify data (scan company file for errors or data damage)

  1. In your QBDT file, go to Window, then select Close All.
  2. Go to File, then select Utilities.
  3. Select Verify Data. If you see:
    a. QuickBooks detected no problems with your data—your data is clean, and you don’t need to do anything else.
    b. An error message—search for it on our QuickBooks Desktop support site for how to fix it.
    c. Your data has lost integrity—Data damage was found in the file. Rebuild your data to fix it.

Rebuild data (fix errors or data damage found)

  1. In your QBDT file, click on the File menu, then select Utilities.
  2. Select Rebuild Data. QuickBooks will ask you to make a backup before it rebuilds your company file. Select OK. A backup is required before you can rebuild.
  3. Choose where you want to save your backup, then OK. Don’t replace another backup file. Enter a new name in the File name and select Save.
  4. Select OK when you get the message Rebuild has completed.
  5. Go to File, select Utilities then select Verify Data again to check for additional damage.
    a. If the verification finds more damage, you’ll need to fix it manually. Search for the error(s) in the qbwin.log on the QuickBooks Desktop support site for how to fix it.
    b. If your error can't be found, you can restore a recent backup. Go to File then select Open or Restore Company.

For detailed steps, kindly visit: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.

However, if it still generates the same result, I suggest deleting and recreating the user.

Furthermore, I will also provide you with this article that acts as a manual for incorporating, modifying, and resolving issues related to login and restrictions within QuickBooks: QuickBooks Desktop Users and Restrictions.

If you require further help regarding any QuickBooks-related concerns, kindly let me know by leaving a response below. I will make sure to respond promptly and offer the necessary support you need.

User permissions list shows "none" for all users

I will try that, but please know that the user permissions listing has never worked. I rebuild and verify the database many times a year and it still doesn't work. I have never in many years had a time that rebuilding and verifying has fixed any problems. At this time I will assume this is a bug with the program and will just not use the permissions listing.

As I stated in the original post and on the screenshot. This does not work for any user. It is impractical to delete all the users and I will not do that.
