Vendor and Time Keeping

Using QB Online-  in the past when we had a Vendor that we wanted to track time for we would add them as a team member to QB Time keeping.  Now when I enter a new vendor and sync time with QB, the new vendor is not syncing up.  Did something change or what am I doing wrong?  To clarify, I have a vendor I added to QB and I go to time and Sync QB time; the sync report shows nothing syncing.

Thanks!

Vendor and Time Keeping

Good day, GStevens2023.

Allow me to help and make sure your timesheet data sync from QuickBooks Time to QuickBooks Online.

Before we start, may I ask if you receive any error messages from your sync log? I'd appreciate it if you can give us a screenshot of the error message. This will allow us to provide specific troubleshooting steps to resolve any sync errors.

To check:

  1. In QuickBooks Time, click the QuickBooks dropdown.
  2. Select View Sync Log.
  3. If you see an error message, hit the option Fix This. If you don't see one you can select a different sync report.

Also, keep in mind that when you add new contractors to QuickBooks Online, they're automatically added to QuickBooks Time. You can use this as a reference in managing your team members: Add and manage team members in QuickBooks Time.

To make sure timesheet data syncs to QuickBooks, you'll need to put a checkmark on the vendor's name in the Preferences.

Otherwise, if the new contractor isn't syncing from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Time, we'll need to retrigger it to sync properly.

Here's how:

  1. In QBO, find the employee not transferring to QB Time and open the profile to edit.
  2. Add the number 1 to either the First name or Last name field.
  3. Run another sync.
  4. Check-in QB Time for the employee.
  5. If they are in QB Time, go back to the QBO profile, remove the 1, and run one more sync.
  6. Verify that the employee is updated in QB Time.

If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Time Support Team. They have the right tools to securely pull up your account and investigate the issue further.

To learn more about the QuickBooks Time to QuickBooks Online setup, I've added this article: Set up your QuickBooks Time account in QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Online Payroll.

Let me know if you have other questions or concerns about vendors and timesheets. I'll be here to assist. Have a great day!
