wage withholding tax

We got a notice that we need to file for our state wage withholding tax. Did Quickbooks already pay the tax that was withheld? and we just file the forms?

wage withholding tax

Welcome to the Community space, Chris!

I am here to provide some information about filing state withholding taxes in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

It's important to note that the process of filing your taxes will depend on your Payroll Settings. If you have turned on your Automate taxes and forms feature in QuickBooks Online Payroll, your taxes will be paid and your forms will be filed automatically. However, if this feature is not enabled, you will need to file your taxes manually. Let me guide you through the steps on how to check if you've turned on your Automate taxes and forms.

Here's how:

  1. Log in to your QBO account and go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Payroll Settings.
  3. In the Taxes and forms check if the Automate taxes and forms box is selected.

Moreover, I'm adding this helpful article as your reference in filing your state withholding tax manually in QBO: Pay and file payroll taxes and forms electronically in QuickBooks Online Payroll.
