I'd really like to know when I should start condensing my data. Hope someone can help
There are no specific file size requirements when condensing data files, Dalgleish. Allow me to elaborate on this.
Since your data is being saved on the company hard drive, we can review this occasionally and check if the file is getting larger. If you notice that the program starts to sluggish, we can indicate that the file size is getting large. In this, we can begin to use the condensed data utility.
This feature can help to improve the program. Here's how:
Please note that if you track inventory, set the date to the last day of the previous month to ensure your average cost remains accurate. Additionally, if there are transactions that can't be removed, you can select Show List to review those transactions with an explanation of why they were kept.

JoanaC THANKS SO MUCH for your detailed response. I am aware of the condense process but would rather delay it until I have to hence my curiosity about the size of the file which is currently at ±150MB. I don't do inventory which would take a lot of space. and there doesn't seem to be a speed degradation at this size.
You should condense your file once it reach 250-300 MB.
