When entering bills, I enter the date, ref no, and amount due. After pressing tab the correct amount is shown on the "Expenses Tab", but no amount is shown in the Amount column below. If I click on the "Items Tab" and back to the "Expenses Tab", another row is created with the Amount Due - essentially doubling the amount of the bill. I have exited, restarted and it will work properly for a while, and then resort to doubling.
Using QB Enterprise 2023
I am having the same problem, but the bug is affecting the Write Check and Enter Credit Card Charges windows as well. This just started yesterday - I have tried closing and re-opening the program and that didn't help. Does anyone have any idea hows to fix this?
Hello there, @NEFEEDER and @AngieP7. I appreciate your time here in the Community forum and for letting us know about the issue that you're currently experiencing.
I understand your frustration and I apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced. I want to assure you that you are not alone in facing this and I'm here to assist you and share some information about this known issue.
After reviewing our records, I have discovered that other customers have reported similar problems. In fact, our Product Engineers have created INV-93573 specifically for the doubled bill amounts issue, and INV-93725 for the Check and Enter Credit Card Charges amounts, being doubled too. Please know that we take these issues seriously, and our Product Engineers are actively working on isolating the root cause and finding a permanent solution. They have doubled their efforts to address this matter promptly.
While there's still no permanent fix, you can however utilize the workarounds provided which are to enter the details of the bottom table first before entering the payee and amount of the check (for checks and credit card charges), and, fill out the bill form from the bottom up (for bills). This means adding the expenses or items at the bottom of the form before entering the vendor or amount due at the top of the form.
You can also turn off the Automatically remember transaction information feature in QuickBooks Desktop. Here's how:
Additionally, I'd recommend getting in touch with our Customer Support Team while the investigation is still ongoing. This way, you'll be added to the list of affected users and be prioritized in receiving email updates about the investigation's progress.
Moreover, should you need to stay on top of your bills, please know that you can use the bill tracker in QuickBooks Desktop. To know more about this, feel free to check out this article: Use the bill tracker to see your upcoming bills.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work towards resolving this issue. Feel free to leave a comment below if you require updates about the investigation or need clarification about the provided workaround. We're here to support you all the way. Keep safe.
Same issue here so I am assuing it's a bug that Intuit has yet to fix. Really annoying that I have to double and triple entering until I can get it to keep the actual amount due.
RE: Please know that we take these issues seriously, and our Product Engineers are actively working on isolating the root cause and finding a permanent solution.
We all know the root cause, which is sloppy coding and lack of effective testing. A competent engineer would be able to figure out the cause in about an hour - especially since it just started in the latest release.
RE: They have doubled their efforts to address this matter promptly.
Doubled? Really? How could you possibly know that?
Same problem with me yesterday! Very frustrating as I'm paying bills.
It seems silly to me that I should have to contact your "Customer Support Team while the investigation is still ongoing. This way, you'll be added to the list of affected users and be prioritized in receiving email updates about the investigation's progress." I can't imagine there are only a handful of users within the universe of QB that are having this issue. Just fix it and push the update.
This is extremely frustrating and hope this issue gets resolved quickly.
