Hello there, jodid.
The option to add the description field on the check stubs is currently unavailable. I understand how this can be beneficial for your business to enable your vendors to identify the transaction quickly. With this, it is best that you submit this request directly to our product development team. This way, they can get notified of the features that business owners need. To do so, go to the Gear icon and select Feedback.
By the time the feature is yet to be an option, we can manually add the transaction description to the Memo field instead of the Description field. Doing so will enable them to be visible on your check stubs.
You can also utilize the Print preview option to double-check this before printing out from QuickBooks. Here’s how:
Additionally, you can view this resource to give you a snapshot of your business: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.
If you have more concerns with check stubs, please don’t hesitate to post them here. Have a good one!
Is this still accurate?
I have info in the description field that needs to be communicated to the check recipiant

While the feature to include the Description when printing checks is unavailable, I recommend sending your valuable insight to our software engineers. This way, they can review your suggestion and potentially include it in future product enhancements. To do that:
You can also visit the Customer Feedback page to track the status of your recommendations.
Additionally, ensure to configure your printer for QBO so your checks align and print out correctly.
Let me know in the comments below whenever you need further guidance printing checks. I'm always happy to help. Stay safe, and have a good day ahead.
