Dependent Care Tax Statements out of QBO

I work for a private school. The families need tax statements at the end of each tax year so they can deduct what they pay for child care off of their taxes. We are having a heck of a time finding a suitable statement to give our families out of QBO! Has anyone solved this issue and willing to share how you get this information out of QBO in a format suitable to give to families?

Dependent Care Tax Statements out of QBO

QuickBooks Online doesn't have a built-in feature specifically for generating dependent care tax statements, Deb-J. However, you can utilize the Invoice and Receive Payments report to track payments made by each family.

This report provides a clear breakdown of payments and their associated invoices. If you need more details about any transaction in the report, simply click on the payment link for additional information.

To run the report, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Reports tab.
  2. Search for Invoices and Received Payments.
  3. Filter the report by the necessary details, such as date range, columns, and rows.
  4. Click the Export to Excel button to download the report.
  5. Modify the information in Excel as needed to include details, such as your business's name, address, and EIN (Employer Identification Number).
  6. Then, save and send the updated report to each family, either via email or as printed statements.

For additional details on generating reports, refer to this article: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.

Also, you can find a third-party app to help you get a Dependent Care Tax Statement easily. Check out our QuickBooks Apps Store to give you access to a wide range of integrations that can help you optimize your financial management.
