Where are customer contacts?

When adding new customers I do not see where to add "contacts" like in the desktop version.  Also where did the "contacts" go that were already in the desktop version when migrating over to online?

Where are customer contacts?

Hi there, @knlrichter.

We take our customer ideas into consideration when looking for product improvements.

Our Product Engineers are implementing new features based on the functionality that works best for most users.

While we don't have a specific time frame as to when the new features will roll out, I recommend visiting our Firm of the Future site. This is where we share recent happenings and future developments, such as updates to newly added features

Also, you can visit our site it provides tips on how to manage your account in QuickBooks.

Let me know should you have any follow-up questions. I'm always here to help. Take care always.

Where are customer contacts?

Hey there, @knlrichter.

Hope you're having a great Friday. I'm here to provide some insight on your question about Contacts in QuickBooks Online. That feature hasn't yet been implemented into QBO. When importing from QuickBooks Desktop to Online, contacts won't convert because it doesn't yet support this feature.

For more information on what will and won't convert when migrating, I recommend checking out: What to expect when you switch from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online

I also noticed this is your first post here in the Community, so I'd like to provide you with an additional resource you can use. The Business section of the Community is jam-packed with conversations between business owners on how they can grow and maximize their success if you'd like to chat with them.

Where are customer contacts?

Wow, that's a major field to just disregard.  Are they going to be adding this to the Customer Information?  I noticed a tab saying "Custom Fields", but there's no way to customize fields without paying more for the Advanced version?

Hi @sharonvw,

I'll point you in the right direction for support with your concern.

We have streamlined the way our users can contact support. Phone numbers and chat links are no longer available on any web pages, and this is for security reasons. What you can do is open your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) company, then follow the steps below:

  1. On your QuickBooks homepage, go to the Help menu.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  3. Tap the Contact us button.

When done, take some time to view this article: Set Preferences for Payroll. It's a complete list of all available preferences available for you in QBDT Payroll, along with their article links.

Leave a comment below if you have other concerns. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
