Why are ads appearing for services I already have?

I use Quickbooks Payments. Why do I keep getting bombarded with ads within QBO to sign up for Quickbooks Payments?  Super annoying.

I have some information here about the upsell ads, @Yo_Be_Low.

The pop-up notifications are intended to help you improve your QuickBooks experience by suggesting and guiding you. I understand that the advertisements may interfere with your navigation. Currently, we're unable to turn off the ads in QuickBooks.

You can dismiss them by clicking the X or No, thanks button. QBO will then switch off the advertising and remember your selection. As a result, the pop-up will not appear again.

If you're referring to marketing advertisements that show up and other types of ads on Chrome, you can read through this link: Block certain ads. This includes relevant resources for blocking certain advertisements.

Another way to prevent these ads, is to enable your browser’s pop-up blocker. I’ll show you how:

  1. Tap the lock icon to the left of the address bar.
  2. Select Site settings (Google Chrome) or Permission for this site (Mozilla browser).
  3. Go to the Pop-ups and redirects section, and select Block from the drop-down menu.

If you’re using Safari as your browser, follow the steps below:

  1. Open your Safari browser.
  2. Click Safari, then Preferences
  3. Select Websites at the top
  4. Click Pop-up Windows on the left sidebar
  5. Then select Block in the pop-up menu for website.

Moreover, I recommend sending feedback to our Product Developer Team. They will review and pick some of these to include in the future updates.

Furthermore, I'm attaching this link that can efficiently guide you in supervising your account: Learn about QuickBooks Online with how-to videos.

I am referring to ads in QBO, not generic browser ads. These are ads imbedded in the QBO app. I do "x" them closed, but they keep re-appearing. Why would you advertise something to me that I've already purchased? For that matter, why are there ads in the app I'm paying for anyway?

In 2008 quickbooks was an ok software for doing your book.  I am a professional engineer who does not like being unduly bothered.  Since then I was pressured by intuit that they not longer supported the professional services version  and they were no longer going to have the professional services addition (which was a lie). So we started using the online version.  What a complete cluster f#@k.  Every time we open quickbooks, it sends a text to my phone and then my accountant calls and asks for the code.  Doing accounting by project is what I needed and wanted but they are forcing to change the way we need to do accounting.  So I have to deal with this crap every GD day.  Then there adds which pop up and you cannot opt out of this.  So I pay almost $100 a month to have this crappy software that is advertising for me to get there loans or other services, that I do not want or need from the shifty company oops.  They charge to much and the only service we have had from them has been to get their stuff fixed.  What crap.

Hello, I-hate-Intwoit.

I understand how important it is to manage your business flawlessly in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Please know that this isn't the impression I want you to have with QBO.

If you keep getting text messages requesting a verification code every time your accountant logs into your QuickBooks Online account, this is because Two-Step Authentication has been enabled. If you want to disable this, follow the instructions below:

  1. Log in to the Intuit Online Account management portal.
  2. Navigate to the Security tab. Click Turn Off to expand the Two-step verification section.
  3. Select Turn Off.
  4. Enter the one-time pass code you received and hit Continue.

After you disable it, you'll only be prompted to verify your account when logging in from a new or different device (PC or mobile). Refer to this article for more details: Verify your QuickBooks Online account with multi-factor authentication or two-step verification.

In regards with the pop-up ads, currently there isn't any option to turn it off. However, you can block certain ads by following the steps provided by my colleague above. I know it hasn't been easy for you because it distract you when working. I recommend submitting your product suggestion to have the option in turning it off.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, select Feedback.
  2. Enter your product suggestion.
  3. Hit Next to submit.
