Why do all invoices show the 8.25%tax collected but tax liability report excludes some. Different customers each month. Taxable sales detail report does not match

Two customers don't show on tax liability report but were charged 8.25%. Show on a transaction report at 6.25% state only. Taxable sales detail report does not list an invoice that appears on the transaction report. All customer taxing details are the same.

In creating invoices, let's ensure that the proper tax application is accurate, firstchoicetransport. Allow me to help you check on how QuickBooks Online (QBO) calculates your sales tax.

QuickBooks will calculates sales tax based on recorded transactions, including the items sold, sale locations, and shipping destinations. It also updates tax rates automatically if there are changes in state regulations. Let's check if the tax rate on your invoices is set to automatic calculation.

Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the Sales menu.
  2. Click on Invoices.
  3. Select the invoice you want to review.
  4. On the right side of your invoice, click on View/Edit.

  5. Check if the tax rate is set to Automatic Calculation.

You can also click on See the math under Sales Tax for detailed information on how your sales tax is calculated. However, if you are using Custom rate make sure the rate set is correct.

Additionally, when pulling up the report for Taxable Sales Detail report, please make sure to filter the date that match with your invoices.
