Why does my PayPal Credit account not show up when I add that account?

Thank you for sharing your concern in the Community space, Eamon. I’ll provide some tips to help you successfully link your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account to your PayPal Credit account.

If you're unable to find your bank during your search, there could be several reasons for this, such as incorrect spelling, using an incorrect URL, or not using specific bank names. Here are some suggestions to help you connect your bank to QBSE:

  • Ensure the spelling matches what is shown on your bank's website.
  • If you're still having trouble, try using broader names like "Citi."
  • Consider entering your bank's URL directly into the search bar, for example, "hsbc.com" for HSBC.
  • Look for the name of the bank that issued your card. This information is typically found on the back of your card. While names like "Chase," "HSBC," or "Bank of America" may work, "Visa" might be too generic.

If you’ve tried all these options and still can’t connect, or if your bank doesn’t appear, request support from your bank. Here's how:

1. Navigate to the Gear icon. Then, select Connect bank.

2. Search for the name of your financial institution. If QuickBooks is unable to find your bank, you'll see the message, "Hmm, we can’t find [name of the bank you entered] in our list of supported banks,". Helpful tips will appear to assist you in locating your bank account.

3. Click Request to add your bank.

4. Enter your bank's web address (URL) in the provided field and click on Request.

In the meantime, you can manually upload your transactions into QBSE to keep a record. Most banks allow you to download transactions from their website as a CSV file.

After you upload your transactions manually, be sure to categorize them to keep your financial data organized and ensure accurate bookkeeping.

If you have any further questions about connecting your bank, please don’t hesitate to reach out by replying to this thread. We’re always here to assist you. Take care.
