Why is qbo ignoring price rules after this weeks qbo update? HAs anybody figured out to fix this?

@Epygi

Hey so just for your information Epygi, Quickbooks has been aware of the price rules problem for probably at least six months to a year. There are other similar threads on here complaining about how forcing this invoice change will essentially break user functionality. Quickbooks acknowledged this and yet decided to force the change anyway.

There is no timeline on when the features will be reinstated, because they won't. Quickbooks has made it clear that they are committed to this new invoice layout despite months of user complaints.

You should look into other software now before the lack of Quickbooks functionality disrupts your business more than it already has.

@ShyMae We have all been submitting to the feedback multiple times a day and made phone calls to "Priority Circle".  Please stop repeatedly telling us to give feedback when WE are not even being listened to. Maybe there needs to be a class action??

It worked this last week and this morning, now it doesn't.  Now I see it is conveniently not supported on Android devices.  Are you stating that you no longer want to support mobile devices that are not Apple?  Again, this is a REQUIRED feature that you can't just turn off because you feel like it.  It is critical and not everyone has (or in some cases want) an Apple device.  If you choose to add net new functionality and wish to charge for it, that's fine.  Removing functionality people have been paying for and is required to run their business opens the door for a class action law suit.  Your position is not defensible and will not hold up in a court of law.  This will be a a very expensive decision if it's not fixed quickly.  And to be clear, this is one of multiple items that have been eliminated with this latest "update".  People will move on and legal actions will be taken.  That is a lose/lose situation.

Here to agree and re-iterate what others on this thread are saying about the new invoice layout.  This is an unbelievably frustrating update that just ruined the ability to quickly make an invoice.  Price rules area must and the fact that we now need to hand enter them is a huge waste of time and energy.  The old invoicing worked and we liked it, for the most part.  Now between the price rules and sales tax issues our ability to accurately and quickly create invoices has become tedious, inaccurate, and frustrating.  Fix this please.  And QB Team, do not give any more asinine recommendations on using third parties for this feature.  Your update sucks.  It's a time suck.  These are all complaint that were submitted in the beta release ad you paid attention to none of them.

@ShyMae  RE: In QuickBooks Online, you can still create price rules. However, applying them to the invoice in the new layout experience is unavailable.

That makes them completely an utterly useless. Do you know how stupid that comes across?

It's like saying you have checking accounts in QuickBooks, but you can't create checks anymore. Or that you can enter budgets but there are no budget reports anymore.  But please do enter a suggestion...

In working with different clients, we've seen that there are several accounting software programs that fit different businesses.

Xero, Netsuites, and Zoho are more in-depth for accounting. Freshbooks and Wave are simple programs for invoicing and billing.

I've seen others trying to go back to Quickbooks Desktop, but I have a colleague who has been getting messages saying that Intuit is determined to get them to migrate to online this year and will be sunsetting desktop features, so I don't know if I can recommend it.

You may have 2 options:

1. Convert data to QB Desktop and us the trial version to access your historical data for good. Then start from scratch in the new app

2. Purchase a 3rd party conversion service.

They will support QB Desktop 2024 Pro Plus/Premier Plus until 2027. I believe Intuit will release QB Desktop 2025 on schedule. QB Online users still need QB Desktop to export data to TurboTax.
