Glad to have you join this forum, srudesal. Let me provide information about 1099 filings in QuickBooks Online.
If you prepare and file 1099s electronically with QuickBooks, we may email or mail a printed copy to your contractors. These forms are due to the IRS and your vendors by January 31. After you file your 1099s, we’ll notify you of your filing status through email.
You can also check your filing status anytime in your QuickBooks Online account. To do that:

My vendors have still not received their 1099's and I processed them back around the 15th and my bank account was drafted for this. When can they expect them since today is the 29th?

QuickBooks distributes these forms to your vendors or contractors after the 31st of January, following the deadline set by the IRS. The program may require processing time to ensure the accuracy of information on these forms before the said distribution.

I’m in a similar situation where I filed my 1099s back on 1/14/24. They are sitting in a status of “InAgency” and I’ve received no confirmation (yet have been charged by Quickbooks for the filing)
I’ve filed my 1099’s with Quickbooks for the past 6 years and it has never been a process like this. I have called and was given a response that everything was “fine” and that it would be coming, without any real explanation.
Im very frustrated that there has been no communication and appears there may have been an update to the process as this is entirely different than past years. For the price paid for this service, both monthly and for e-filing, it should be managed so much more clearly.
I hear your sentiments, @BGO2. Let me chime in and share additional information on how QuickBooks supports 1099s.
The status that says “In agency” signifies that your 1099 forms have been received by the IRS. Once processed and approved, you’ll eventually receive a confirmation email about them.
QuickBooks typically waits until January 31st to send out the 1099s because this is the deadline set by the IRS for distributing forms to vendors or contractors. Furthermore, QuickBooks may still need time to process the information to ensure everything is accurate before dispatching them.
I recognize the importance of getting prompt access to filed copies. If you want to know the status of your forms in advance, you may consider contacting the IRS for assistance. Please know that QuickBooks is compliant and solely relies on the updates from your agencies.
