Buy nowIt seems that each time I need to use a report, list, invoice, etc., the column widths in the new "modern" format are not maintained. Even when creating multiple invoices, I need to regularly adjust column widths. In lists, I can no longer adjust he "Contact" column width. In many cases, this is the most important column for me to see, but it appears it is the only one to which the column width cannot be increased. I question if anyone who is implementing all of these changes has ever used this software as part of their typical duties. The amount of unnecessary clicks, pop ups, etc. required to do the simplest things seems to be increasing. Even some simple functionality that would improve the efficiency often is overlooked.
Constantly adjusting the column widths and handling pop-ups, can be challenging, bnavarre and I'd feel the same way if I were in your situation as it disrupts workflow efficiency. In QuickBooks Online (QBO), column widths are initially fixed to a default setting. However, you can manually adjust them to fit your needs.
I know how convenient it is when the column widths are consistent and maintained. Thus, I suggest sending feedback to our Product Developer team. They can review your suggestion and consider it for future product enhancements. Here's how:

@bnavarre RE: I question if anyone who is implementing all of these changes has ever used this software as part of their typical duties.
Oh, they most certainly don't! The people that design and implement QuickBooks Online do not use it. They're Intuit employees, not small business owners.
I doubt the reps even have access to it.
This suggestion is not helpful. The columns repeatedly re-default to other widths meaning constant adjusting is required when performing repetitive tasks. This also doesn't address the issue of the "contact" column not being adjustable.
Also, providing feedback has proven nothing more than a waste of time. Not one item I've submitted for feedback in 10+ years has been resolved.
There needs to be a way for QBO to keep custom settings for different pages.
