QuickBooks will keep any modification as long as you save those changes before exiting the program.
The cause of suddenly being logged out of and into your accounts is when your computer or laptop experiences a brief interruption in the internet connection, which can also result in your data not being saved.

Performing basic browser troubleshooting.
1. Try using a private or incognito browser.
2. Restart your browser.
3. Clear your browser's cache.
