Can we save money with the processing of income received from our invoicing? We are currently being charged about $150 for 3 deposits made monthly.

I see that you are looking for an alternative to save up money when it comes to invoice payment processing fees, @marleenjoy1954. I get that this could really add up to your company expenses, and saving something from this could be really helpful to your business finances. I am here to provide you with options that are available in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

If you are utilizing ACH in processing invoice payments, you have the option to assign the convenience fee to your customer, adding to the original invoice total.

Once they send the payment, you will receive the full amount, and we will match the invoice to the payment entry, excluding the convenience fee, since it does not directly impact your accounting.

You can follow the steps below to set it up correctly:

  1. Go to the Gear icon in the upper right corner and pick Account and settings.

  2. Then, choose Sales.
  3. Click the Invoice Payments.
  4. Make sure to check the Your customer pays the fee tab.
  5. Uncheck all other payment methods (credit card, ACH bank payment, PayPal, and Venmo) here. If not, you will need to uncheck them on the invoice.
  6. Select Done.

You can proceed in this article for further steps: Let your customers pay invoices by ACH bank payment with a convenience fee.

However, if you are not utilizing ACH and want to stick with what you are currently using, you have the option to request a rate review for QuickBooks payment discount fees. To qualify for this, you will need to meet the following requirements:

  • There is an average of $10,000 processed by payments in QBO in the last three months.
  • You processed with QuickBooks Payments for at least the last three consecutive months.
  • Your account doesn’t currently have funds on hold and remains in good standing.

If you are certain you meet these qualifications, contact our team so we can start a rate review of your accounts.

Being aware of the available options in QuickBooks to earn a discount on invoice processing fees is essential in saving up business finances and maximizing income. Let me know if you have additional questions or need assistance. Leave a comment below.
