Can you split ACH payments to a credit between two accounts?

I currently pay my credit card via an ACH transfer between my bank and the credit card.  QB will not let me split lump payment between different accounts.  Is there a work around?

Can you split ACH payments to a credit between two accounts?

You can use Melio for free with the Partial Payments feature as a workaround. It gives you more flexibility in how you choose to pay the bill. It allows you to divide a bill into several payments and use different methods at various stages of the payment.

When you schedule a partial payment, Melio will track and display the remaining balance.

How to make partial payments with Melio:
Log in to Melio and go to the Pay section.

Choose the relevant payment from your Inbox and click Schedule Payment.

Click the pencil icon that appears next to the open balance and type the amount you’d like to pay.

You can get $100 as cashback to pay the first bill.

Can you split ACH payments to a credit between two accounts?

I've got some alternative steps to help you split payments between two separate accounts, @wes-ncadaptedspo.

We recognize the importance of this feature. However, it isn't available in QuickBooks Online (QBO) as of now.

To help enhance your experience with QBO, your valuable feedback will be shared with our product development team. Here's how to send it:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select Feedback.
  2. Type in your comments or product suggestions.
  3. Hit Next to submit.

As a workaround, you can exclude the transaction and create a journal entry. Let me guide you through the process.

  1. Go to the Transactions menu, then select Bank transactions.
  2. Open the For Review tab.
  3. Choose the checkbox of the transactions to exclude.
  4. Click Exclude.
  5. Head to the +New button, then pick Journal entry.
  6. On the first line, select an account from the Account field and enter the amount in the correct column for debit or credit.
  7. On the following line, select the account to transfer money to or from and enter the same amount in the opposite column as the previous line.

To proceed to the next steps in creating a journal entry, you can visit this article: Create journal entries in QuickBooks Online.

Alternatively, you can record two separate bank transfers.

In case you want to categorize bank transactions and reconcile your accounts, you can refer to these articles for guidance:

I got it backwards, I am able to categorize and split a payment between multiple COAs, just not between Vendors.  I may just create CC Vendor and note in explanation.  I was hoping to split between vendors, e.g.  $100 cc payment split between REI & Lowes.  I will only allow me to enter one vender.
