Deposit on HOLD with no explanation from QBO.

I made the mistake of falling for the Save money by using QB checking gimmick & now we’re not going to have enough money to make payroll this week. I switched all of my payment info last week to start having both my instant deposits and regular deposits go into my QB checking account. Not a new account, I’ve had it for over a year, I just haven’t used it much. The first couple of payments weren’t eligible for instant deposit, which was odd bc I’ve never had a payment that wasn’t eligible in 2 years. No big deal. Then the payments aren’t going into my account at all. They keep telling me they’ve emailed me, but they haven’t. When I click on the payments it says in red that it’s on hold and click here for the next steps, then it just sends me to some generic info that has nothing to do with it. Today I changed all of my stuff back to my old checking account, of course todays deposits weren’t eligible for instant deposit either. Then I go to transfer what was still in the QB checking account to my old account & suddenly the text verification doesn’t work. To say that I am angry is an understatement. Intuit could care less about their customers. Anytime there’s an issue, I have to set aside AN ENTIRE DAY to get it resolved. My time is valuable & I don’t have it to waste. If anyone actually knows how I can get MY MONEY, that would be great. I’m actively looking for something better. This is not how you treat customers.

This isn't the kind of service we'd want to your experience, @windyl0u. Let me address your deposit concern so you can get back to business.

The insufficient funds is a possible reason why your direct deposit is on hold. You'll want to ensure you have enough balance in your funds to avoid errors and delays in the future.

If you haven't received an email or need help resolving the hold, I'd recommend contacting our Payment Support Team. They'll securely pull up your account and work with you in lifting the hold status. Here's how to reach them:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Select Help (?) at the top right.
  3. Select or type Contact Us.
  4. Enter your concern, then select Let's talk.
  5. Choose how you'll want to get in touch with the support.
  • Start a chat with a support expert.
  • Get a callback from the next available expert.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with QuickBooks Online. It sounds like you're having a lot of trouble with your deposits and payments.

Here are a few things you can do to try to resolve the issue:

  • Contact QuickBooks Online support. They should be able to help you investigate why your deposits are being held and what you can do to get your money released.
  • Check your QuickBooks Online settings. Make sure that your bank account information is correct and that you have the correct permissions set up.
  • Try transferring your money to a different bank account. If you're able to transfer your money to a different bank account, this could indicate that there is a problem with your QuickBooks Online checking account.
  • Consider switching to a different accounting software. If you're not happy with the way QuickBooks Online is handling your deposits and payments, you may want to consider switching to a different accounting software.

Here are some additional tips for dealing with QuickBooks Online support:

  • Be prepared to provide as much information as possible about the issue you're experiencing. This will help them to troubleshoot the problem and provide you with a solution more quickly.
  • Be patient and persistent. It may take some time to resolve the issue, but keep following up with QuickBooks Online support until it is resolved.
  • Consider escalating the issue. If you're not getting satisfaction from QuickBooks Online support, you may want to escalate the issue to a manager or supervisor.

I hope this information is helpful. Good luck!

@windyl0u   I feel for you.  I

f you search this community, you will find a VERY large number of Intuit/ QB customers that have had this same issue.  It seems to only be getting worse, as the days go.

QB has a history of taking the money and "holding it", only to make themselves money off of YOUR money.  Some will have their money held for a couple days or weeks.  Others are having to wait MANY months, and still not getting it released.  They in turn, have to collect it from their own state, after 270 days, when QB has no choice but to release it.

I hope you don't have to wait that long. But know that it's a game that Intuit./ QB is playing with YOUR money.

I suggest reporting them to any agency that you can think of, including BBB, FTC, and your States Attorney General.  Also, Search the community.  There are a threads that talk about a class action lawsuit.

OB MUST be stopped!!  The only way to do it is to report them.

Good luck!

I am SO FRUSTRATED! I have searched and I see it's an ongoing issue. I used to LOVE QB, but their customer service is crap, they don't care about us at all. Anytime I have a problem, they still try to get me to upgrade, etc. Everything is about making more money with them. They teach these 'customer service reps' to use big words like escalate to make people feel like something is being done, when it's not. They claim they've sent me an email, that's not true. They can email me about every stupid little thing, but this, nope. They're telling me there's no reason for it to be on hold, we're not showing anything wrong with your accounts. Well NO s***! I'm going to report to everything possible. I believe a Class Action is well deserved here. This is not okay. Their generic responses above make it seem like it's so easy to reach someone. No, it's not. Not someone that actually knows anything. I am so disgusted. For them to put us in a bind like this is just not okay. I'm having to cancel upcoming jobs because I don't have the Deposits that the CUSTOMER PAID. I've cried, I'm stressed, my blood pressure is through the roof. I just can't even fathom treating my own customers this poorly. I'd be out of business. Hurting my business like this when I pay them around $20 grand a year is a slap in the face. I have to find something better. I set aside 3 hours today to deal with this. I'm at 2 hours and 40 minutes and no closer to having my funds than I was yesterday.

I'm so sorry this is happening to you and your company.

The game is to say they sent an email, but they don't.  They just hold your money, so they can collect interest off of it.  The sad thing is, People keep signing up, without checking reviews or anything.  Then they get screwed over.

QB USED to be a decent company.  That is LONG gone.

Report them.  Leave reviews.  Do what you can to help spread the word about the fraud and scams going on with Intuit/ QB.  People need to know.

One thing you can do, to hopefully get answers, is hit up social media.  QB has FB and Twitter, most likely Instagram, too.  I have seen a few posts about how they received answers going that way.

I'm going to try FB, thanks for that suggestion. It's downright fraudulent and obvious. For example, after the issues started, I decided to switch everything back to my regular bank account. When changing account info, you have to do text verification. fine. It sends a code, I enter it, everything is changed. HOWEVER, when I try to transfer MY MONEY from the QB checking account to MY BANK ACCOUNT, the text verification somehow doesn't work.

I have the same problem now.  I have called payroll support three times and spent hours on the phone with them, and nothing.  They set up a ticket and said someone would contact me within 1 to 2 days, but nothing happened.  I still do not have it resolved - am writing paper checks. If anyone has an idea as to how to get it fixed, I would love to know.  In the past, support has always been okay but on this, worthless.
