Join nowI just got my EMV card reader for GoPayments. I set it up, connected it, etc. The next morning however, I went to take a payment from a customer and noticed on the invoice screen it said "Reader disconnected" or something to that effect. I went in and reconnected it and of course, took the payment. Quite annoying it will become however, to have to reconnect the reader all the time.
I'm using an iPhone. Is this normal behavior? Why can't it

The card reader is connected through Bluetooth so there can be circumstances that it can be disconnected such as accidentally turning off the device Bluetooth. No worries, you can connect it again seamlessly since you've set it up successfully.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I know I can connect it back again, it's just annoying extra step. I'd love it if I could connect this reader through USB to my computer and use it IN Quickbooks. Thanks for your input!

There's a USB card reader called MagTek that works with QuickBooks. It can also be used in your Merchant Service Center.
There aren't any drivers required for installation. Instead, you'll be able to use it after plugging it in, much like a keyboard or mouse.
