You don't need to be necessarily compliant with Security Metrics, this is only for business that processes, store, or transmit payment card info required to comply with the PCI DSS Compliance.
Furthermore, choosing not to utilize this service will have no disruptions to your business with QuickBooks. However, in the future, if you handle any card processes, you must meet the PCI compliance requirements to ensure the payments are safe and secure.
