Very frustrated with Quickbooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online. Trying to transition to Online in order to improve data exchange between QuickBooks and Square. The Commerce Sync Connector to Desktop did not work well. Seven months of missed transactions and inaccurate data.
I am trying to avoid the same mistakes in this transition. I have read most if not all of the knowledge articles about this. The Square to Online Connector sounds great, but I cannot get any information on the detail level. The reviews are terrible. More people rate it one star than fiver star.
There is no detail about the way that it connects, about how to set up each side. The only thing I get from QuickBooks Online is try it, you will like it. I did, with Desktop, and just about ruined the accounting for 2021.
If QuickBooks had to rely on customer feedback, they would be bankrupt in six months. I do not know how a business person can run a business using tools that are dull, inappropriate, or just plain wrong for the application.
Is there anyone at QuickBooks that actually reads feedback? So far today, I have been able to connect with one (1) person at QuickBooks out of 10 attempts. She was a nice person, did not know the product, and she hung up without providing an answer.
Please, can someone in the community comment on this? where is the information? how do they connect? Does the connector use categories? Does the connector transmist SKU and product information from square to QB? Can I use the Connector to transfer summary data by product so that I can flow income to a specific product accounnt and COGS to the corresponding cost account? If I use the by transaction mode, can I do this?
I understand that QB was not meant to be a CRM or Inventory solution. I just want to be able to do basic profit and loss accounting by product. Does anyone at QB understand??????????????????
I would recommend to explore another connector, like this one. You will find their guidelines in detail and can contact their Support if needed. Maybe you don't need to migrate to QBO and stick with QBD and use the same connector. You can still use the one-time license for QBD 2021 to integrate with it.

I tried to call them - ring no answer. Will try again tomorrow. Thank you! Rick
