Hello there, @Planner23.
All transactions downloaded into your credit card account depend on the data shared successfully by your financial institution. You're on the right track in manually uploading them for keeping up a record in your account in QuickBooks.
Below are some instances which can be the reason why your credit card accounts won't update automatically:
With this, I'd recommend contacting the Technical Support of your financial institution. From there, a specialist can help you map your credit card accounts accordingly so your transactions will be downloaded correctly.
For the steps in organizing your online transactions and keeping with the accuracy of your credit card account balance, consider reading this helpful article for reference: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
If there's anything else that I can help you with, please let me know in the comments below. I'll be here to lend a hand.
I completely agree. Constant updates from Intuit/QuickBooks about how to manually do this are not helpful.
PLEASE ADD INTEGRATION FOR AMEX BUSINESS CHECKING ACCOUNTS.
Good Day, I just spoke with a American Express Representative. As of today, they are unable to connect the AMEX Business Checking to QBO online. AMEX has not certified the connection to their standards. QBO will be notified as well as AMEX Business Checking users when the connection can be established. I was told they are working on it by year end (December 2023) possibly sooner not guaranteed.
Thank you for actually having some specific information. I have never been able to connect my AmEx Business Checking Account either, so I'm glad to know that there is a known issue here.
As of August 2023, this still doesn't work.
QB Support isn't really reading this or understanding that American Express Business Checking is separate from American Express Credit Cards; however, AMEX Business Checking is in fact wrapped up with the other CCs and I'm not sure things will get better unless American Express Business Checking separates with its own login or if QB finally figures out we're not talking about credit cards on the Amex portal.
Excuse the poor paint job, i'm exhausted today from deal with other support issues but I hope this gives support some insight to the issue, instead of just posting more canned responses about how to connect to American Express...
