Join nowIs there a keyboard shortcut to select the payment type when receiving a customer payment in QuickBooks Desktop? I can tab my way through all the fields, scroll the date, but not change the payment type (ex: from check to Visa) without having to use the mouse. I can move between the payment options but it doesn't select one that I stop on unless I click it with the mouse. I'm wondering if there is a keyboard shortcut to tell it I want to use the payment type that I have tabbed onto for this payment I am receiving.
Solved! Go to Solution.
There is no traditional keyboard shortcut, but it is still possible to navigate the Customer Payment window using only your keyboard.
As you noted, you can tab over to the Payment Type buttons and move between the payment options using the left and right arrow keys.
To select one of the Payment Type buttons, press the spacebar.
Not as nice as having a straight keyboard shortcut, but at least it does not require a mouse.
Hello there, @DSAcct.
I'll share some insights about receiving a customer payment in your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) account.
Having a keyboard shortcut when receiving payments from a customer is currently unavailable in QBDT.
Here's how:
Alternatively, you can also receive and process customer payments for invoices and in-person sales in QuickBooks Desktop via QuickBooks Payments.
Lastly, I've added this resource for you to be able to know how long it takes to get customer payments in your bank account after you process them: Find out when QuickBooks Payments deposits customer payments.
If you still need further assistance receiving customer payments, don't hesitate to let me know. I'd be glad to lend a hand at any time. Stay safe.
No. When Intuit replaced the simple pick list with the ridiculous and unintuitive set of buttons to select the payment type a few years back, they did away with any shortcuts for them as well.
Thank you for the reply.

This helps and will work for me just fine, thank you!!
