I agree that QuickBooks will require credit card information when using QuickBooks payments for refunding and tracking purposes, Laura189.
Since your customer refuses to provide their credit card details, you can have them contact their bank and request a dispute for the canceled order amount. Once the bank processes their request, you can then manually record a refund receipt transaction to return the inventory quantity. Here's how:
- Go to the + New.
- Select Refund receipt.
- Select the Customer dropdown, then choose the customer you want to refund.
- Select the Refund From dropdown, then select the method you deposited the payment.
- Add all products or services the customer returned in the Product/Service column.
- Fill in the date, quantity, rate, amount, sales tax, and other fields accordingly, then select Save and Close.
