Buy nowI'm just wondering if I am missing something or if indeed the implementation of payments via payment links is as illogical as it appears.
Having read some other posts, it seems that any payment from a payment link, whether it is one on an invoice or one from a manually created payment link in the dashboard, triggers an auto generated sales receipt. This neither links back to the invoice related to the payment link or in the case of an existing customer using a dashboard created payment link, the auto generated sales receipt makes no attempt to match to an existing customer using name or email address.
There's also no way to turn off the utterly dumb auto generated sales receipt so the manual work is increased by the fact you have to additionally delete all the auto generated sales receipts to then manually create sales receipts linked to customers or match the payment against an invoice.
Am I missing something or is this really how abysmally bad this has been implemented?
I'm here to share insights on how to handle the autogenerated sales receipts in QuickBooks Online (QBO), namgbr.
When a customer pays you through a payment link, it will automatically be recorded as a sales receipt. Correcting the entries is the best way to handle this.
I understand that the current system creates challenges, especially with the auto-generated sales receipts from payment links. I suggest sending feedback to QuickBooks regarding these issues. Your insights could help them identify areas for improvement in future updates. Clear communication about the user experience can lead to enhancements that benefit everyone.
