I had to replace my printer recently and I have been unable to find a printer that is able to print one single business check, measuring 8.5"x3.3/8" in size. Quickbooks has a set up for printing a single check by using the envelope feed but the printers I've tried can't deal with this. If I feed the check thru the envelope feed, it prints across the narrow part of the check rather than in landscape mode printing the length of the check. If I try to feed a single check in through the regular manual feed slot, it's not a long enough piece of paper to feed all the way through and jams the printer. I am getting very frustrated as I never had an issue with my old printer.
My checks are 3 to a 81/2"x11" sheet. If I don't have 3 checks to print and only need to print one or two, I have an extra check that has to be written out by hand or voided. I've tried Brother and HP printers, neither will work.
If you have a printer that can do this, please let me know the make and model.
Most printers are compatible with QuickBooks, Jschmidt70. We can configure and adjust your alignment to ensure your checks print correctly. I'll guide you through the process.
We'll have to perform coarse adjustments when printing checks in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). To do this, here's how:

Unfortunately, this doesn't work. The printer cannot handle the check size. We found if we take a full,
letter size piece of paper and fold down the top 1/4" and place the top side of the check under the fold,
the printer will print it perfectly.
Thanks to You Tube!!
I went through the exact steps you detailed below, twice. My printer, HP OfficeJet Pro 7740, would never print. I don't have problems printing a full page of checks or even 2 checks on a page. It will absolutely will not print a single check. My old printer did it beautifully, unfortunately, it died. This is one of the most frustrating things! Why don't this big expensive printer print one check from QuickBooks?
Thanks,
Cindy

Have had the exact same problem for years and now it's printer shopping time AGAIN... Wondering if you found a printer model to achieve the single check print without a feeder page?
And to be clear to the QB agents and helpers: I'm seeking info from someone who actually achieved the single check print without a feeder page and the INFO I'm seeking is a manufacturer and model number of a PRINTER. Sending the check printing alignment and settings page is not what is requested - 6 years ago I had a printer that did it and I spend 8 hours with QB helpers and HP tech support when I got a new one to find out that it doesn't work. YES the printer is "compatible with quickbooks" and I'm sure you are correct that "most printers are" but I assure you, many printers won't do the single check without a feeder so don't bother sending the settings adjustment info. I already have that info - thanks.
