Join nowI'm running QB desktop for Mac 2020. I am having to manually input a lot of payments and I start by adjusting the date, then I hit the "tab" button to move to the next column which is "number/type" this is where QB decides to autofill a check number. In this case its 2600. IDK where that number comes from as my current check number is 1982, but that's beside the point. I'm not even writing a check, I'm entering a transaction and do not want it to keep assigning a check number. I know its petty, but I have to delete it for EVERY transaction. Is there a way to turn this off so that I can just hit "tab" and this column will remain blank? I've already tried "settings/checks/disable auto-fill of check numbers" and this does not work. It turns off autofill of check numbers when I'm actually writing a check. Any help is greatly appreciated! I will attach a screenshot.

I understand how important it is to remove the check number added to the register, jason.
As of now, we're unable to remove the number after pressing the tab button. I can see how beneficial it is to have this ability in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.
I suggest sending your feedback to your development team. This way, they can review your suggestion and might consider adding it in future updates. I'll show you how.
