QB online question: Will new QB Bluetooth card readers talk directly to my desktop computers which are running QB online?

Just switched from QB desktop to QB online and looks like I need to buy new QB bluetooth card readers

Let me share information about QuickBooks card readers.

 

QuickBooks supports three card readers. See the list below:

 

  • QuickBooks Card Reader (This is currently the only mobile card reader that’s available for purchase.)
  • QuickBooks GoPayment Chip and Magstripe Card Reader
  • QuickBooks GoPayment All-in-one Card Reader

 

The first two products can be used with QuickBooks Desktop, GoPayment, and QuickBooks mobile app. The third one does not work with QuickBooks Desktop.

Thanks for your response Ethel. To be clear - We have just moved off of QB Desktop and over to QB online. We are a brick and mortar shop and need to swipe cards at the computers that are running QB online. Apparently we now need to use smart phones or buy tablets in order to use QB GoPayment to swipe a card into the software that we are running on the computers we are standing next to? This seems overly complicated, possibly expensive and time consuming. Dis-appointed if this is the only way to swipe a card.

Typical QuickBooks online support response it's copy and paste from their help screen! pathetic! This product cost us over $1000 a year to use in my office they clearly didn't read the original post that  clearly states he's using QuickBooks online on a desktop machine I am also looking for a solution for Swiper.. I think it's pathetic that you Qb pays people to copy and paste help screens to reply to people who are paying for your product and it's very expensive.
