Does anyone know where to find a payment that says quickbooks payment-PayPal I don't have that on my chart of accounts? I need to change it from undeposited to checking?

I have no quickbooks paypal but apparently the payment was sent that way. It is not showing anywhere on my registers or my reconciliation. I am short the exact amount of this transaction so I can't close the month until I find it and move it to checking. When I try to edit it I get a message that says this transaction has been deposited. If you want to change or delete it you must edit the deposit it appears on and remove it first but I don't see it anywhere.

It's great having you here in the Community, kcsshine. Let me help you track down the payment using PayPal.

If you have received a payment, it's important to ensure everything is in order. Start by checking your undeposited funds. This is a crucial step, as it allows you to confirm that the payment is available for deposit. Once you've verified the payment, you can manually transfer the amount to your desired bank account.

Here's how to manually deposit the amount:

  1. Go to the +New and click Bank deposit.

  2. Choose your checking bank account.
  3. Locate the amount or the payment.
  4. Tick on the box, then click Save and New.

Also, since you mentioned that you're trying to edit a payment. To assist you further, can you provide more details about what you’re trying to edit?

Finally, I'm adding this article for detailed information about making bank deposits in QuickBooks Online: Record and make bank deposits in QuickBooks Online.

That should help you record your payment in your checking account. If you need further guidance, don't hesitate to post here in the Community space. We're here to help manage your finances and keep your accounts accurate. Have a great day!
