I'm trying to accept a payment on my estimate but it keeps giving me an error.

I have an estimate that was accepted and the customer made the required payment on the estimate.  The payment shows in my account.  QB didn't create an invoice and when I click accept it gives me an ERROR message.  When I try to go in and create the invoice from the estimate, it doesn't show the payment that was made on the estimate.  Am I missing a step?  What am I doing wrong?

Welcome to Community, @kllt.

I'll make sure you're able to record the customer payment. You're on the right track in converting an estimate into an invoice. To reflect the payment, you'll have to record the payment by following these steps.

  1. Go to +New.
  2. Select Receive Payment.
  3. Mark the invoice under Outstanding Transactions.
  4. Click Save and close.

You can also open the invoice and then click on the Receive payment button at the top right to record the payment. This way, you'll be able to match your downloaded transactions with QuickBooks.
