I have a vendor whose terms are 1% 10th net 11th. How can I set this up in terms so I don't have to manipulate the bills every month.

Does "1% 10th net 11th" mean 1% discount if paid on or before the 10th, and due on the 11th?

If so, that's sort of odd, as they've giving away 1% to get paid one day early.

In any case, set it up like this:

QuickBooks helps makes this as confusing as possible through lazy use of English. If you set up the terms based on the text of the labels, you'd enter the 12th and then the 11th, but then it wouldn't work as you want.

Instead, understand that the person who wrote the labels doesn't understand English:

- "Net do before the" should say "Net due on or before the"

- "Discount if paid before the" should say "Discount if paid on or before the"

1. Go to the Lists menu and select Customers & Vendor Profile Lists, then choose Terms List.

2. Click the dropdown arrow from the Term button.

3. Then, select New.

4. Set up the term that you need.

@ChristineJoieR

The OP doesn't need a lesson in how to find the terms list. They want to know how to set up the terms record to make it work the way they want. You totally missed the question and posted a big long answer that doesn't actually answer the question. Instead, you just write "4. Set up the term that you need." Well, that is the OP's question: They want to know how to "set up the term that they need" and they have described how it needs to work, but they don't know how to do it. You are not being helpful.
