Sending invoices

Is there a way to send invoices to customers who do not use email? My customer base does not use email, but they do have cellular phones. Can Quickbooks Online send invoices via SMS text message?

Sending invoices

Hey there, @Mmcdaniels1.

Yes, there are two ways to send invoices using a link to your customer via SMS. I'll guide you how.

First is from your invoice screen:

  1. Go to the Sales tab.
  2. Select Invoices.
  3. Find and open the invoice.
  4. At the lower right beside the Save button, click the drop-down menu, then select Save and share link.
  5. Click the Copy link button, then close the pop-up.
  6. Once done, paste the link in the SMS and send it to your customer.

Second is from your customer's transactions list:

  1. Go to the Sales menu.
  2. Select Customers.
  3. Choose the customer's name, then find the invoice.
  4. On the Action column, click the drop-down menu and select Share Invoice link.
  5. Click Copy link and close.
  6. After that, paste the link in the SMS and send it to your customer.

Once done, you can check out this article: Record invoice payments to be guided on how to receive and categorize your invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.

I'll be around if you have additional questions in sending your invoices. Have a great day!

Thank you so much for the step by step here. I really appreciate you taking the time. I’m new at QB, and I’m learning more and more as I go along. I made this same query about a year ago, and the answer was no.  Again, thanks! 😀

Hi there,

You can use SnapDesk (found on the Quickbooks app store) to automate invoice via SMS text messages. This way you can collect invoices from customer who may not have an email on file.

You can learn more about SnapDesk here: Text Quickbooks Invoices w/SnapDesk
