What happens you the pay multiple invoices by an ACH Payment. And then you void the check that was previously issued for those invoices? Will this set those invoices to pay again if you void the check?
Wanda
@Chun95chula To my knowledge, the Void function relates specifically to checks created via the Write Checks function in QuickBooks Desktop. The system to receive payments on invoices is separate from this.
Unless one of the heavy hitters in the community knows something I don't about your situation, which is ever plausible, it may help if you provide an image of exactly what you're doing.
If you delete a payment of any kind, whether check, ACH, or whichever, it will cause the open balance of the invoices in question to increase by the amount of the payment in question.
Yes, voiding bill payments will set bills back to their unpaid status, Chun95. I'll explain what will happen when you decide to void vendor ACH payments.
In QuickBooks Desktop, you can void bill payment checks if necessary. Voiding the check will change the payment amount to zero, making your bill unpaid. However, this transaction will remain in your record.
To remove the check entirely, you can delete the entry instead. This way, no other payment will be linked to the bill. For more information, please refer to this article: Void or delete a bill or bill payment check in QuickBooks Desktop.
