Why can't QB answer why they are withholding funds a client has paid other than its a larger payment than usually received using QB payments?

I received payment from an existing client who followed the prompts to pay through QBO on the invoice. Because of this, QB is holding my funds while they "review" the transaction. Today is  business day 5 and I was told it will be another 1-2 business days because the funds are "under review". I ask to speak to a supervisor and am denied. QBO is holding my money, making interest off it but not paying me, without clear communication or compensating me for the delay. It took 5 calendar days to receive any request for information to support the "review". I thought this was supposed to make my life easier but does the exact opposite.

We appreciate you reaching out here in the Community space, @millerbiology. We'll provide details regarding funds on hold and how you can get through it.

Please know that if payments are taking longer than usual, it's possible that they're not on hold. If you're new to QuickBooks Payments, processing may take a while because we're still setting up your account. Once it's ready, your future transactions will get through smoothly, and you won't be experiencing any delay. Adding to that, please be aware that deposit time will depend on what product you're using. We'll write down the steps to help you check your deposit speed:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Go to the Gear icon and select Account and settings.
  3. Select the Payments tab.
  4. Review the Deposit Speed section.

Feel free to visit this article for more details: Find out when QuickBooks Payments deposits customer payments.

@millerbiology   There are SO many others in this same situation. There are a couple threads talking about a class action lawsuit against Intuit/ QB, because of this issue.  I might be able to find a link for a thread or 2, but you can also use the search bar at the top of any page here in the community, to find one.

Good luck on getting your money.

I processed an $1800 payment from a client 5 WEEKS ago and still can't transfer it out of the QB checking account.  I've spent over 6 hours on the phone with QB and keep getting the run around.  I'll never use QB for processing credit card payments and I'll be deleting (or making inactive) the QuickBooks Checking Account ASAP!
