Why the purple invoice number?

I'm about to receive a check payment from a customer who is paying two invoices at once. Why is one invoice number blue in appearance while the other is purple?

Why the purple invoice number?

We appreciate you reaching out to the Community, Nan_I_Can1. I can share some information regarding the color of invoice numbers in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), the colors of the invoice numbers are set by default. Since you mentioned that the color displayed on your end is purple, it's best to use incognito mode to isolate this issue. After opening your private browser, kindly view it again to see if it still contains the same color in your invoice numbers.

Here are the shortcut keys for accessing private browsers:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

If the issue persists, I recommend clearing your browser's cache and cookies. You can also use other supported web browsers to help identify if this matter is related to your current browser.

Additionally, you can pull up a report named Open Invoices Report and customize it to either a Modern or Classic View. This way, you can see all of the open invoices available.

Please let me know if you have additional questions, Nan_I_Can1. We'll be around to help you in any way we can.
