can the feature be removed that when the employee clocks in it has the previous day's job already pre-filled?

when switching jobs, the crew no longer has to fill out all fields. Can that be changed?

Hey @Roberta B ,

Great question! Right now, QuickBooks Time does carry over the last job an employee worked on when they clock in the next day. Unfortunately, there isn’t a built-in setting to turn this off completely.

However, there are a couple of workarounds that might help:

  1. Encourage Employees to Switch Jobs Before Clocking Out – If employees manually select “No Job” or a different placeholder job before clocking out, that will be what carries over instead of the previous day’s job.

  2. Use Reminders or Training – A quick reminder for employees to double-check and update their job selection when clocking in can prevent accidental tracking under the wrong job.

  3. Submit Feedback to QuickBooks – QuickBooks is always improving, and the best way to get this feature changed is by submitting feedback. You can do this from within QuickBooks Time by clicking on the help menu (?) and selecting “Give Feedback.”

I know it’s not a perfect solution, but hopefully, one of these helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Yes, you and your employee have the option to turn off the prefilling features by removing the checkmark of Remember last timesheet selections under Options, Roberta. Let me walk you through the steps.

Here's how:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Time.
  2. Go to Time Clock.
  3. Select the Name of your employee.
  4. Before Clocking out, select the Options drop-down.
  5. Remove the checkmark in the Remember last timesheet selections.

Once you or your employee unchecked that field before clocking out, they can manually input the required information the following day. It ensures that all data is accurately recorded and helps maintain clear and precise records.
