Good day, toolmanjackie. Allow me to help with your inquiry about making changes to an approved and used timesheet.
To answer your question, you can still unlock time entries and edit customer details even after payroll has been processed. However, please note that the changes will not automatically be reflected on the paychecks since they have already been finalized.
Please note that the changes won't be reflected on the already processed paychecks. Because of this, you'll need to manually adjust the billable or customer details to reflect the correct information.
Here's how to unlock a time entry:
- Go to the QuickBooks icon and select Unlock Exported Time.
- Choose a Start date and an End date.
- Select All team members, then select the employees you want to unlock time for.
- Review the timesheets, then select Unlock timesheets.
- In the notice that displays, select Confirm unlock.
For more details about this process, you can refer to this article: Unlock QuickBooks Time Timesheets.
Once you have unlocked the timesheets, you will need to unapprove them before making any changes. Here's an article that serves as a guide: Approve, Unapprove, And Reject Timesheets For QuickBooks Time.
After that, you can move on to editing the customer details.
