Employees enter their time in a Kiosk and record the project that they are working on.  When payroll is run, hours are entered manually.  We should have synced the data from QBO time to QBO.

How can we now sync the time entries to the different projects that employees have worked on during the year?

Hello Regal,

We can sync the time to a different project your employees have worked on by manually modifying the projects in QuickBooks Online. I'm here to guide you through the steps.

Here's how:

  1. From the Time tab, select Time entries.
  2. Select the employee that has timesheets you want to add to the project.
  3. Locate the timesheet, then click Edit.
  4. On the Customer/Project drop-down, select the new project.
  5. Click Save.

From there, you'll have to import the changes into your QuickBooks Time account. To do so, go to your QuickBooks Time account, click QuickBooks,  and then Import.

Furthermore, I've added this article on how you can manage project permissions: Manage projects permissions.

Let me know if you have other issues syncing data in QuickBooks Time.

I do not want to change the project that employees have worked on.  The hours from Time entry were not imported when payroll was run.  I want to know if i can import the data after the fact.

Hello there, efk317.

I understand that you're facing an issue with syncing QuickBooks Time with QuickBooks Online payroll, and I'm here to help you out with that.

Based on your post, it seems that you've already processed the payroll. To address this matter, we need to void the paycheck, import the time entries, and rerun payroll to ensure that your employees receive their payments accurately.

Voiding the paycheck is easy, and I'll walk you through it. Here's how:

  1. Go to Payroll, then Employees.
  2. Click Paycheck list.
  3. Select the paycheck(s) you'd like to delete or void, then choose Void.
  4. Hit Yes.

Once that's done, we can import your QuickBooks Time data into QuickBooks Online by accessing your QuickBooks Time account, clicking on QuickBooks, and selecting Import.

To make things easier for you, I've included some helpful articles on integrating QuickBooks Time with QuickBooks:

For future use, here's an article on generating reports to view useful info about your business and employees: Run payroll reports.
