Restrict Service Items to Certain Customers

Is it possible to restrict service items to specific customers? We have specific service items that we use for internal time tracking, and I only want them to be available to select when we enter our own company as the customer.

I can assist you in limiting customers' access to your service items, JenC1.

 

In QuickBooks Time, you can navigate to the Customer's menu to limit the availability of items to specific customers.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Customers menu.
  2. Select Edit next to the customer.
  3. Under Custom fields, next to the list field you want to choose from, select All items.
  4. Assign or unassign items:
    • Click the sidebar arrow to move options from the Unassigned Items box to the Assigned Items box.
    • Tap the sidebar to move options from the Assigned Items box to the Unassigned Items box.
  5. Hit Save.
